Sometimes, renovations require a light hand. Even though we completely gutted and reconfigured this Tudor, we did so with respect and sensitivity to its 1920s origins. The living room became dining room, where we removed a wall accommodating a built-in bookcase to create a wide expanse of French doors that open fully onto a terrace. We painted the doors’ wood frames to mimic the residence’s period steel casings, and cleaned up the interior architecture by minimizing moldings. With its 1920s spirit intact, you can hardly detect we were ever there! #smirosarchitects #lifestylecurators
